Samsung, the industry's second-largest mobile device manufacturer, lags in the smartphone market where it is the fifth-largest player (behind Nokia, RIM, Apple and HTC).

Samsung plans to raise its smartphone sales target for this year to more than 20 million units, up 2 million from an earlier target.

Samsung's new flagship Galaxy S is their platform for this clallenge. It will soon be available on all the top mobile operators in the United States, including AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-mobile.

- Sprint yesterday announced plans to offer the device over its WIMAX network (branding it 'Epic'). Sprint will include a 16GB microSD card with the Epic 4G. Sprint says it will be available later this summer.

- T-Mobile will be the first US operator to launch Galaxy S on July 21, branding it the Vibrant and selling it for US $200 with a two-year contract.

- AT&T will sell it as 'Captivate' but has not revealed launch dates

- Verizon will sell its version as the Fascinate and expects to offer the device by late summer or early autumn.

All Galaxy S variants include Samsung's 1GHz A8 Cortex Hummingbird processor, Android 2.1 operating system with TouchWiz 3.0, 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Swype Software for the on-screen of QWERTY keyboard.

All five will be among the first to ship with Bluetooth 3.0 which offers high-speed data transfers between devices. Bluetooth 3.0 uses the Bluetooth link for negotiation and link establishment, but high data rate traffic is carried over a colocated 802.11 link.

The South Korean vendor claims over 100 operators worldwide have already decided to offer the smartphone. Canada's Bell Mobility will reportedly offer the device this summer branded as Vibrant.

AT&T's new $15/month plan maxes out at 200MB. Their new "unlimited" $25 plan is now capped at 2GB - with $10 per 1GB in overage fees. That makes using video chat impossibly expensive if you want to capture an extended event. A "4G" network like Sprint's WiMAX service - with truly unlimited service - may be a virtual necessity for heavy video use.

Lots of speculation is going around on the new iPhone 4g... in HD!! Official features have been revealed at the WWDC conference today.

Verizon Wireless is currently testing a CDMA version of the iPhone 4G and Verizon confirms they are making network changes to bring the iphone to their network.

The new iPhone 4g is going to be loaded with awesome new features like video chat, multi-tasking and extreme downloading. (List of possible features below). Just when you think there is nothing else to come up with, more and more technology comes out. And it is on the rise, and not just at Apple, Inc!

Woo hoo! This iPhone 4g could also have dual core processors and higher and powerful graphic chips that can deliver higher video resolutions and better "still" images when taking pictures.

There are a few networks working on building 4 4G network. T-mobile would be a likely carrier since they are GSM already. Sprint has a 4G network already...AT&T and Verizon Wireless are in the beginning stages. There are talks of Verizon Wireless getting iPhone sometime in 2010 since the exclusive contract with AT&A expires, but it could be renewed until 2012.


Whether or not it will be 4G will be up to them!... can they build in time? Regardless, there is much anticipation on how many people will leave AT&T for Verizon Wireless because of AT&A's lagging on app restrictions like Slingplayer and Google Voice and Skype (on #g network, not Wi-Fi).

AT&T's restrictions have caused the percentage of people that are JailBreaking their iPhones to rise since Jail Breaking usually comes with Cydia which is the app store for jail broke phones.

Most of the applications, ringtones, and even iphone themes!...are free with Cydia. Winterboard is part of the download, and it very easily add's the changes to your phone so you dont have to figure how to do it on your own...it is VERY automated.

The Palm Pre on Sprint and HTC EVO (Sprint now offering a 4G network) has made an attempt at being competitive with iPhone and BlackBerry...and it seems they are making head way.

iPhone 4G looks promising in terms of being sleek, packed with new hardware and multi-tasking software. Very exciting.

Verizon iPhone 2010 - Specs, Review and Prices

In the modern world of today everyone has mobile. Mobile is the marvelous creation of science. From businessman to students all uses mobile.

This news is very good for iphone lovers that verizon wireless subscribers may get their iphones in June, 2010. May be verizon and apple introduce a new version of iphone next year. This news comes when verizon launched the droid.

In recent interviews, Ivan Seidenberg the chief executive of verizon and Tim cook chief operating officer of apple has dismissed the idea of a CDMA iphone. Verizon also said that apple was not going to work with verizon but rumors suggested that Apple and Verizon have been testing an LTE version of the iPhone. Cook also said that CDMA has no future and they wants to work on GSM networks.

This is not first time that people we will hear about verizon iphone in 2010. Verizon will be hurrying to launch LTE in 2010, perhaps for Apple. Verizons CEO told the wall street journal that LTE version of the phone will make apple.

This upcoming iphone provides:

A smaller body: The research identified that new phone have a 2.8 and 3.2 smaller screen.

CDMA vs. WCDMA: This iphone will be help to both CDMA as well as GSM/UMTS. Verizon will moved to LTE, the next generation of UMTS service. You can works on both types of networks with one phone.

This iphone will be announced before april 1, 2010. If Apple will announce a device with verizon then it will not be branded iphone but must have standard qualities in mobile.

Apple and Verizon said in talks for 2010 iPhone

Once believed to have blown its first chance at the iPhone, Verizon is now claimed to be in discussions with Apple for its own version of the iPhone in 2010.

Pointing only to anonymous people familiar with the negotiations as its sources, USA Today explains that Verizon reportedly entered seriously talks before Steve Jobs' hiatus and has been continuing those talks even with Jobs temporarily sidelined for medical reasons.

Other than a 2010 target release window, little else is divulged by the apparent insiders.

Although not explicitly stated, the newspaper infers that the phone would be a CDMA device compatible with Verizon's existing network and therefore using EVDO for its 3G Internet access.

Such a move would give the phone broad coverage but directly contradicts Apple COO Tim Cook's own dismissal of CDMA last week: when discussing iPhone expansion plans, the executive justified the absence of a CDMA model by arguing that a single, GSM phone model is easier to produce than building a separate version for a relatively small batch of customers.

Cook also sharply criticized CDMA by asserting that it has no future, as most CDMA carries plan to phase out the calling technology in favor of the same 4G standard that will be used on GSM networks.

More likely is a direct leap to a 4G. Verizon chief executive Ivan Seidenberg recently explained that a deal is more likely for a phone with the advanced networking technology as it would let Apple continue making one phone but still service North are for now off limits.

Verizon plans to officially launch its commercial 4G network in early 2010 and would therefore have at least some of its network ready for an iPhone by the time AT&T's exclusivity term ends, which is likely for the same year.

However determined Verizon may be to land an iPhone of its own, AT&T may topple those ambitions through its own discussions. Separate rumors have the incumbent iPhone carrier pushing Apple to extend its US exclusivity until 2011 -- enough to stall any Verizon deal until AT&T's own 4G network is ready.

Any successful deal, no matter the network type, would likely be a seriously blow to AT&T, which credited much of its ability to weather the ongoing economic crisis to iPhone sales and the resulting spike in data revenue.

Aside from reducing incentives to launch massive, special upgrades to the network, a Verizon model would let those dissatisfied with AT&T' s 3G coverage or its customer service defect to Verizon without giving up Apple's handset.
